2. With PhiMatrix installed, click on the Act menu and select 'Begin Free Trial' or 'Purchase' to activate it.

OTHER USEFUL SOFTWARE

PhiMatrix Color Palette Generator - Included free within PhiMatrix.  Just select the File - Color Palette Window option in PhiMatrix or click on the Color Palette icon.

Bob - A free program by Stephen Collins which generates Penrose tiling with a variety of user controls that determine its output.

PhiBar - A free program by Michael Semprevivo which applies phi relationships to the spectrum of colors in visible light. Colors in the spectrum that are related by distances based on phi or the golden section produce very rich and visually appealing combinations.

Golden Rectangular Solid - The 3D analogue to the 2D golden rectangle spiral is depicted by this application.  You can rotate a golden rectangle in 3D and use 3D glasses to see the effect.

DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON INSTALLING PHIMATRIX

STEP 1 - INSTALL THE SOFTWARE

Windows Installation:  For the quickest and simplest installation, click on the XP or Vista icon above and then select "Run" to begin the installation and follow the prompts until PhiMatrix launches and then follow Step 2 below.  Watch the 40 second Installation Instruction Video to save time.

Mac Installation:  Click on the Mac icon above, which will save the PhiMatrixSetupMac.zip file to your desktop and display the unzipped PhiMatrix.dmg file.  Double click on PhiMatrix.dmg to run the PhiMatrix installer application and double click on that to proceed with the installation.  On completion, the PhiMatrix1618 application file will then be on your desktop and in the Applications folder and can be launched from either place.  Then follow Step 2 below.

Virus protection / spyware registration or deactivation:  The software installation process requires a brief activation confirmation from our registration server.  Certain virus protection and spyware applications may require that you register PhiMatrix as an accepted program to complete the activation.  If you receive any kind of network error you can also temporarily disable the security/protection for the installation.  If you have any difficulties at all installing the software please send an email so that a resolution can be provided.

STEP 2 - SELECT EITHER FREE TRIAL OR PURCHASE

When you launch PhiMatrix you will see the Control Window and the Grid.  Select the "Act" menu of the Control Window (see image to the left) and then choose either "Begin Free Trial" or "Purchase."

A registration window will display to activate the software via a secure connection from eSellerate.net.  No personal information is required for the free trial.  The software is fully functional immediately after you complete the activation and close the confirmation window at the end of the process.  The PhiMatrix watermark disappears after purchase.

Alternative installation:  If you have any difficulty activating the software using the steps above you can also get an activation code by going to the PhiMatrix Online Store.  Once you have your serial number, select Act-Offline Registration-Enter Serial Number from the menu to enter the serial number and then select Act-Offline Registration-Activate Serial Number to activate your software.

STEP 3 - OPTIONS FOR PURCHASING PHIMATRIX

The Purchase option in the Act menu automatically registers and activates your serial number and converts the software to the fully licensed version.  Several license and pricing options are available:

GOLDEN MEAN GAUGE

When fully expanded, the outside points of the gauge have a spread of 6-3/16".  Made of 1.5mm stainless steel.  Rustproof but NOT suitable for autoclaving.  Holds positions tightly, sturdy and is accurate to .25 mm.
