Software Installation Guide

System Requirements

PhiDental requires Windows 2000, XP with the .NET 1.1 update. It is NOT compatible with Windows 95, 98 or ME.

Options to verify that you have Microsoft's .NET 1.1 Framework or install it:

• To download the .NET 1.1 update as an executable file from Microsoft and install it yourself outside of Windows Update click HERE. (Easiest)
• To install the .NET Framework 1.1 through Microsoft Windows Update click HERE.
• To check to see if it is already installed, follow the instructions at http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/framework1_1/

Download PhiDental™

Download a fully functioning version of PhiDental™ which you can use for free for 30 days by clicking below: 

Important:  Run REGISTER.BAT before Install.exe
to avoid installation error messages.  (See "Installing" section below.)

Save the PhiDental.zip file to your Desktop (or any directory you chose) and then double click on PhiDental.zip to install the program.  The program includes an uninstall program.  If the grid is not transparent, adjust the Settings tab of your Display Properties panel to 24 bit or 32 bit color quality.

Installing the PhiDental Software

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Once you extract the installation files from PhiDental.zip, double click on register.bat BEFORE running install.exe to provide a temporary registration. Click OK on the registration screen. If a DOS window remains open after this process, close it.

For experienced users who prefer just an overview of the installation process, follow the steps below:

• Go to your Desktop (or the directory you chose) and double click on phidental.zip to open up a window that displays its contents.
• Click on the Extract All Files option (usually in the window pane at the left), click on "Next" twice and select "Show extracted files" and "Finish."
• Double click on register.bat to provide a temporary registration. Click OK on the registration screen. If a DOS window remains open after this process, close it.
• Double click on install.exe to install the PhiDental software. Click on OK or Next whenever the prompts appear. If you want to install a desktop icon, click on that option.  Otherwise just launch the software from the Start menu.
• View the user guide by going to the web site at www.phidental.com or by going to the help.htm file included with the software.
