Is a Mac version available or planned?

Not at this time, but due to the interest expressed we're exploring this possibility.

Why doesn't PhiMatrix save images in GIF format?

GIF file formats require licensing fees that would increase the cost of the software.  If you're using graphics software that saves in GIF format, either save your image in PhiMatrix as a bmp file or just press the PrintScreen key and paste the image into your software.  You can then save your image in any format you want.

Why isn't the grid transparent or why doesn't the opacity slider work?

PhiMatrix uses advanced graphics features of Windows XP and 2000 and will not work with Windows ME, 98 or 95.   To correct display problems, please adjust the Settings tab of your Display Properties panel in the Control Panel to 24 bit or 32 bit color quality and make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card or interface.

Why can't I drag and resize the PhiMatrix grid?

To resize the grid, drag and resize the outside border of the application window, not the PhiMatrix grid itself.

How do I get PhiMatrix to stay on top of all my applications?

When you launch PhiMatrix, it remains on top even when you click on the original underneath UNTIL you minimize PhiMatrix. Once PhiMatrix has been minimized, it assumes that you want to be able to hide it. To get it back on top, use the ALT-TAB key to select it. It's thus best to not minimize PhiMatrix at all unless you truly want it out of the way. When you select an image underneath, the window of the image becomes active even though PhiMatrix still overlays it so that you have access to the functions of the software displaying the image.

If you'd like PhiMatrix to be on top all the time, you can accomplish this by using Vitrite, a free Windows XP utility by Ryan VanMiddlesworth available at http://home.insightbb.com/~ryanvm/tinyutilities/vitrite/ (Thanks to Joe Sykora for the tip!)
