Website and Software Design

PhiMatrix can be used for layout and composition in both software and websites.  Not every line or element of course can or should necessarily fall on a grid line, but by using various grid options you can assure that your composition or design has a natural sense of aesthetics.

The Stavridis Group uses phi and PhiMatrix extensively in the design of printed materials, logos and websites, including their own:

You can also see phi in PhiMatrix itself and the PhiMatrix website.  While dimensions may vary slightly across different OS platforms and browsers, the dimensions of the PhiMatrix home page and the Control Window of PhiMatrix form a perfect golden rectangle, with many of the individual elements being defined by the phi proportions of the grid lines.

Use the full variety of PhiMatrix grid options to provide an endless framework of design options that are grounded in the aesthetics of nature and the harmony of mathematics.

On the website home page, note how the position of the navigation bars fall exactly at golden ratio proportions on the grid.  The Buy/Try and Download buttons define the golden ratio center points.  The outside edge of the four application choices are also at golden ratio grid points.

In the interior banner image, the position of the primary text message is bounded by key golden ratio grid lines.

The navigation bars and positioning of the logo are based on the golden ratio.
